Find the joy

“This is our one and only chance at life—here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. Opportunities come, and then they are gone. I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not. I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and nonexistent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey—now.” - Thomas S. Monson

A baby shower gift

I stayed up the and made this dress for one of my college roommates, Nicole. She's having a baby girl this month. A long time ago I made a baby blanket that has frayed edges and I just really love the soft look of it so I used that as my inspiration for this frayed ruffed baby dress. I hope she likes it.

What kind of mood are you in today?

Hannah drew this picture this morning to tell me what mood she's in:

"They are happy, sad, angry, and scared. First I was angry (she didn't want eggs for breakfast) then I was happy (after she actually tried them). I'm not sad or scared yet."

Happy Birthday Grandma Hill

Grandma,
You really are the best! Beautiful inside and out. Wisdom and grace always accompany you. You have such a great personality. I just really love talking you because of your outlook on life and people. You are sharp as a whip and hilarious. I've always felt like your favorite (as I'm sure all of your grandchildren do.) and I want to thank you for all the love and time that you have given me.
Hope you have a fantastic birthday. Wish I was there for a squeeky kiss on the cheek! That and your raspberry cake of course.
Always and Forever,
Missy

Happy Birthday Trevor

To my good friend Trevor,
Bet you thought I'd forget. You're a jerk of a friend most the time, but I guess I'll wish you a happy birthday anyway. Just kidding. Erika and I are lucky to have you in our lives. Thanks for being such a great friend over the years. Who would have thought the 3 of us would be able to put up with each other for so long? Here's to many more years.
Have a great birthday! Wishing you nothing but the best.
